A respected Orange County law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a highly organized legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and has extensive experience supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing court filings, calendaring deadlines, preparing legal documents, and ensuring smooth day-to-day litigation support.

Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and litigation support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation

Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents

Manage attorney calendars, including court hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial dates

Maintain litigation deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and scheduling requirements

File documents electronically in California state and federal courts

Coordinate service of process and filing of legal documents

Schedule depositions, meetings, court appearances, and client conferences

Prepare hearing binders, exhibit sets, and trial materials

Maintain and organize physical and electronic client files

Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, vendors, and experts

Track incoming and outgoing correspondence and manage attorney workflow

Requirements

Qualifications

3+ years of litigation secretary experience

Strong knowledge of California state and federal court filing procedures

Experience with e-filing, calendaring, and litigation document preparation

Familiarity with court rules, deadlines, and legal terminology

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management systems

Excellent proofreading, grammar, and document formatting skills

Strong organizational and time-management abilities

Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet competing deadlines

Professional communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work on-site in the Irvine office five days per week
