Job Title: Warehouse Worker (1st Shift) Job Description
This role supports a busy warehouse operation by accurately processing orders, handling physical materials, and ensuring inventory moves safely and efficiently through the facility. You work primarily on the first shift, performing frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of boxes while using scanners, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Responsibilities
Scan boxes accurately to ensure correct items are processed and tracked in the system.
Perform precise order pulling while consistently meeting established productivity metrics.
Read labels carefully and verify item information to maintain high levels of accuracy.
Lift, carry, and move boxes weighing between 10 and 50 pounds without assistance on a regular basis.
Walk, stand, kneel, squat, stoop, and bend for extended periods throughout the shift.
Work independently to grip, lift, push, pull, and carry boxes, including moving items up and down inclines, stairs, and over changes in walking surfaces or elevation.
Process incoming and outgoing orders, ensuring all items are properly documented and handled.
Use the proprietary computer system to track orders and determine the location of boxes within the warehouse.
Operate a handheld RF scanner to locate, pick, and record inventory movements.
Climb and maintain balance on ladders safely when accessing higher storage areas.
Load, operate, and move hand carts, pallet jacks, and other material handling aids safely on concrete and uneven surfaces.
Load boxes onto pallets, shrink wrap pallets at ground level or on carts, and prepare them for shipment.
Manually load pallets onto trucks using appropriate material handling equipment.
Assist with general labor tasks such as picking, loading, unloading, and organizing materials as needed.
Essential Skills
Experience performing general labor tasks in a warehouse or similar physical work environment.
Proficiency with order pulling and order picking processes.
Ability to use RF scanners or handheld devices to locate and track inventory.
Capability to safely lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance for prolonged periods.
Comfort working in a role that requires constant heavy lifting and repetitive physical motions.
Ability to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, hand carts, and other basic material handling equipment.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate scanning, labeling, and order fulfillment.
Ability to maintain balance and safely use ladders when required.
Reliability in arriving on time and working a consistent first-shift schedule.
Steel-toed boots, required for safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in order picking, loading, unloading, or material handling in a warehouse environment.
Familiarity with using proprietary or warehouse management computer systems to track orders and inventory.
Comfort working independently and staying productive without constant supervision.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workload in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment
This position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, where temperatures may vary with the seasons. You work Monday through Friday with a 7:30 a.m. start time and must remain flexible for an 8:00 a.m. start if needed. The role involves standing, walking, and performing physical tasks on concrete and uneven surfaces for extended periods. You regularly use equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, hand carts, ladders, and handheld RF scanners. The facility emphasizes safety, and steel-toed boots are required as part of the dress code. The work is highly physical, with constant heavy lifting and frequent kneeling, squatting, reaching, bending, and twisting throughout the shift.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
