This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant to support a physician specializing in internal medicine and cardiology within a high-touch concierge medical practice in midtown Manhattan. You will deliver exceptional patient care, perform clinical procedures such as vitals and phlebotomy, and provide outstanding customer service to patients who expect a polished and professional experience.
Responsibilities
Support a physician who specializes in internal medicine and cardiology in a concierge medical practice.
Greet patients, prepare exam rooms, and ensure a welcoming and professional patient experience.
Obtain and document accurate vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and other measurements as required.
Perform phlebotomy, including drawing blood and properly labeling and handling specimens.
Spin blood samples using appropriate equipment and prepare them for further analysis or transport.
Assist with holter monitoring, including setting up, explaining the procedure to patients, and ensuring proper device placement.
Assist with stress tests, including preparing patients, monitoring them during the procedure, and supporting the provider with required tasks.
Document patient information and clinical data accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Provide patient care and support throughout the visit, addressing questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
Deliver high-level customer service consistent with a concierge medical practice, maintaining a polished and professional demeanor at all times.
Collaborate closely with the physician and other staff to ensure efficient patient flow and a smooth daily schedule.
Follow medical practice protocols, safety standards, and infection control procedures.
Assist with general clinical and administrative tasks as needed to support daily operations.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in a medical practice.
Proficiency in obtaining and documenting vital signs.
Proficiency in phlebotomy, including drawing and handling blood specimens.
Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Strong patient-facing skills with the ability to provide compassionate and attentive patient care.
Excellent customer service skills, with a polished and professional communication style.
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to outpatient care.
Current Medical Assistant certification.
Ability to support procedures such as holter monitoring and stress tests, or willingness to learn.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in clinical documentation and specimen handling.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in cardiology is a plus but not required.
Experience working in internal medicine or other medical specialties is highly valued.
Ability to thrive in a concierge medical setting where patients expect high-touch service.
Strong organizational and time management skills to support a steady patient schedule.
Professional demeanor, including excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexibility to adapt to staggered start times and varying daily schedules within the stated hours.
Work Environment
This position is based in a medical practice located in midtown Manhattan that specializes in cardiology and internal medicine. The physician typically sees approximately 15 patients per day, allowing for a focused and personalized patient experience. The schedule is generally Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional staggered shifts such as 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The ideal candidate is flexible and able to work any shift between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The environment is professional, patient-focused, and service-oriented, reflecting the expectations of a concierge medical practice where patients invest significantly in their care. Staff are expected to present a polished, professional appearance appropriate for a clinical healthcare setting and to work comfortably with standard medical equipment used for vitals, phlebotomy, holter monitoring, stress testing, and electronic medical records.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
