Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description
The Engineering Technician supports manufacturing operations and engineering projects within an ATV production facility in Swepsonville, NC. This role works closely with manufacturing engineers to improve equipment performance, support automation systems, troubleshoot production issues, and assist with continuous improvement and capital projects across the plant. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with a two-year technical degree who enjoys hands-on work in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Support engineering teams with manufacturing, automation, and continuous improvement projects throughout the facility.
Troubleshoot equipment issues involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
Assist with PLC programming, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of automated production equipment.
Support robotics, sensors, drives, control systems, vision systems, and industrial electronics used across the plant.
Perform root cause analysis on equipment and process issues and help implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Create and update engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
Assist with equipment installations, process improvements, and production line modifications within welding, paint, plastics, and assembly areas.
Work directly with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support safe, efficient operations.
Document engineering changes, project activities, and equipment improvements in a clear and accurate manner.
Support safety, quality, and productivity initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Apply knowledge of welds and work effectively within welding environments as needed.
Essential Skills
Associate's Degree in Mechatronics, Controls Technology, Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.
Basic PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, including exposure to PLCs in a manufacturing environment.
Experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment.
Understanding of industrial electrical and electronic systems.
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
Experience reading electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 2D/3D CAD software.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work hands-on with manufacturing equipment in a production environment.
Experience working in or around welding environments and understanding welds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with robotics, vision systems, and industrial control systems.
Experience with automation, continuous improvement initiatives, and capital projects.
Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Swepsonville, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
