The Product Solutions Consultant serves as the strategic bridge between Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Technology, Operations, Resellers and prospective clients. This role is responsible for translating market opportunities into scalable product solutions, supporting complex sales pursuits, influencing product direction, and enabling successful commercialization of Optum Bank and our healthcare provider solutions.
The Product Solutions Consultant partners with sales teams on strategic opportunities, leads client and partner discovery workshops, develops tailored solution recommendations, manages RFP responses, delivers product demonstrations, captures non-standard customer requirements, and works closely with Product Management to influence roadmap priorities. Additionally, this role plays a key role in new product launches by coordinating go-to-market assets, sales enablement activities, and commercialization strategies.
The ideal candidate combines business consulting, product expertise, pre-sales leadership, solution design, and market-facing communication skills to accelerate revenue growth while ensuring customer needs are aligned with scalable product capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales & Solution Consulting
Partner with Sales Executives to drive growth and revenue opportunities
Lead client discovery sessions to understand business needs, payment workflows, and technical requirements
Recommend solutions aligned to client objectives and Optum Financial capabilities
Serve as a trusted advisor in client presentations, workshops, and executive discussions
RFP/RFI & Sales Enablement
Support RFPs, RFIs, due diligence requests, and technical assessments
Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and Implementation to develop solution responses
Maintain reusable sales content and ensure solution alignment with product capabilities and roadmap
Solution Design & Demonstrations
Deliver tailored product demonstrations for clients and stakeholders
Translate complex payment solutions, integrations, and APIs into business value
Develop workflow diagrams, requirements documentation, and solution narratives
Requirements Management & Product Advocacy
Gather and document customer business and technical requirements
Identify market trends, customer needs, and product enhancement opportunities
Serve as the voice of the customer and influence product roadmap priorities
Go-to-Market Support
Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product teams to support product launches and commercialization efforts
Develop sales enablement materials, including playbooks, solution briefs, and competitive positioning content
Support sales training, launch readiness, webinars, industry events, and customer-facing presentations

Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in Solution Consulting, Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, Product Management, Business Consulting, or other customer-facing advisory roles
5+ years supporting banking, fintech, payments, treasury management, financial services, or financial technology solutions
5+ years of experience delivering executive presentations, product demonstrations, and customer workshops while communicating complex financial and technology solutions to business, technical, and executive audiences
5+ years of experience assessing customer business, operational, and technical requirements, develop solution recommendations, and translate market and client needs into product opportunities
Experience developing RFP responses and sales enablement content
Demonstrated success partnering with sales organizations on complex client opportunities
Demonstrated solid stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility and influence across clients, sales teams, product organizations, and executive leadership
Demonstrated ability to create and communicate solution workflows, business requirements, process documentation, and value-driven recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in banking, healthcare payments, commercial payments, treasury services, fintech,, or payment processing
Experience supporting product launches and go-to-market initiatives
Knowledge of ACH, Virtual Card, Check, RTP, Digital Wallets, Payment Integrity, and Payment Automation solutions
Familiarity with APIs, EDI transactions, integration architectures, and modern payment platforms
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines
Proven success building trusted relationships with customers, prospects, and cross-functional internal partners

Within the first year, the Product Solutions Consultant will:

Improve launch readiness and adoption of new payment products and features
Create a repeatable framework for sales enablement and go-to-market execution
Become a trusted advisor across Product, Sales, Marketing, and executive leadership teams
This position is a hybrid of Product Manager, Solutions Consultant, Sales Engineer, Product Marketing Partner, Customer Advocate, and Go-to-Market Lead, helping ensure Optum Financial's Commercial Payments organization brings the right products to market while effectively communicating their value and driving adoption.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
