Description We are looking for an early-career Accountant to join a fast-moving telecom services organization in Arvada, Colorado on a Contract basis. This position will support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong focus on invoicing, billing accuracy, and maintaining steady cash flow through effective accounts payable and accounts receivable work. The role also offers broad office support responsibilities and close collaboration with company ownership, making it a strong fit for someone who is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable using modern technology, including AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities:

Manage outgoing and incoming financial transactions, including vendor payments, customer invoices, and follow-up on outstanding balances.

Prepare accurate billing documents and maintain invoicing records to support timely revenue collection.

Record journal entries, update general ledger activity, and help keep financial data organized and current.

Complete bank reconciliations and review account activity to identify discrepancies and resolve issues quickly.

Support sales tax tracking and related documentation to help maintain compliance requirements.

Partner directly with ownership to provide accounting support, respond to requests, and assist with operational priorities.

Contribute to daily office coordination tasks that help keep administrative and financial processes running smoothly.

Make updates to Microsoft-based documents, spreadsheets, and reporting tools as part of regular accounting and office workflows.

Assist with accounting process updates related to billing and invoicing needs, including work connected to the company's move to Xero.

Use sound judgment in a fast-paced environment while leveraging technology and AI tools to improve efficiency where appropriate. Requirements - Experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable responsibilities.

Working knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.

Ability to perform bank reconciliations with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Background in invoicing, billing, and sales tax support.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and related business documents.

Comfortable working in a high-growth, fast-paced technology-focused environment.

Ability to communicate professionally and collaborate directly with company leadership.

Familiarity with AI tools or a demonstrated ability to work effectively with emerging technology.
