High school graduate or GED .
A minimum of two (2) years of office experience within an academic setting.
Administrative experience in a school, office, or university setting.
Experience using independent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Experience using strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience working with document scanning and electronic documents.
Experience using strong organizational skills that demonstrated the ability to prioritize work assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
Three years of previous administrative experience in higher education and/or an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree.
Experience in a higher education setting with college admissions processing and/or prospective student advising office experience.
Knowledge of student recordkeeping.
Prior work in a nursing academic setting and experience working with college students
Familiarity with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ( FERPA ) & the Texas Board of Nursing.
Experience using computer programs and student information systems such as Banner, Logi Reporting Systems, Degree Works, NursingCAS, Canvas, Canva, and Qualtrics.
Job Description
This position provides advanced administrative support to the St. David's School of Nursing and carries out assignments primarily associated with Nursing's Admission and Retention Office. This position involves significant interaction with current and prospective BSN students, SON faculty, and the general public.
Job Duties
JOB OVERVIEW :
This position provides advanced administrative support to the St. David's School of Nursing and carries out assignments primarily associated with Nursing's Admission and Retention Office.
JOB DUTIES :
Serves as the initial point of contact for the St. David's School of Nursing, including responding to in-person inquiries, monitoring main phone lines, and managing the School of Nursing email account. Responsibilities also include retrieving, sorting, and distributing mail to faculty and staff, as well as coordinating package deliveries.
Provides professional, welcoming, and customer-focused assistance to prospective and current students, as well as visitors.
Assists with the processing of undergraduate nursing applications within the NursingCAS system. Duties include collecting and reviewing application documents, creating and maintaining applicant and student records, generating data reports, and entering and verifying information within database systems to ensure accuracy. Coordinates submission of applicant information to the Texas Board of Nursing to initiate criminal background checks. Processes application fees, including receipt preparation and deposit, and prepares official correspondence for applicants and enrolled students using a mail merge system.
Supports the Admissions and Retention Suite by monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, and facilitating operational requests for Admissions and Retention staff.
Contributes to Nursing Student Success initiatives by supporting retention and recruitment efforts, including student engagement activities, walk-in support, and resource coordination. Assists with recruitment events (e.g., Discover TXST Round Rock and Bobcat Days), student registration and advising processes, and the planning and coordination of New Student Orientation each fall semester.
Maintains and updates the BSN website, forms, student handbook, and program resources for prospective students. Develops and manages multiple Canvas sites.
Coordinates room scheduling within the Nursing building, assists with event logistics as needed, and submits AIMS requests for building maintenance and service needs.
Provides support for special projects as assigned by the BSN Admissions & Retention Coordinator and performs other duties as required.
