A day in the life...

Wondering what a day in the life of Patient Accounts Representative at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

Handle patient billing inquiries, collect payments, and provide outstanding customer service.

Research accounts, verify insurance benefits, and explain charges and balances.

Process payments, refunds, adjustments, and assist with payment arrangements.

Document account activity and maintain accurate patient records.

Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on account issues.

Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing policies while resolving billing discrepancies.

Collaborate with internal teams to address complex account concerns.

Utilize Microsoft Office and billing systems while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Communicate effectively, remain professional under pressure, and maintain strong attention to detail

This job might be for you if...

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years' previous experience working in a medical office or billing environment with healthcare billing, insurance, or patient collections required.

Awareness of medical terminology required.
