Job Title: Administrative Assistant | Mon-Fri 8:00-5:00 | 2 Month Contract | $22-$24/hr

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive support to our leadership team. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth departmental operations and involves working closely with City leadership and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Research and analyze data to support reports, recommendations, and departmental initiatives.

Prepare reports, correspondence, presentations, graphs, and other materials for City leadership.

Assist with the development, implementation, and interpretation of City policies and procedures.

Provide administrative and technical support to the Chief of Staff and leadership team.

Coordinate vendor services, approvals, and follow-up activities.

Serve as the primary contact for office operations, facilities, supplies, and equipment needs.

Respond to staff inquiries and resolve office-related issues and concerns.

Research and draft speeches, talking points, and communications for City officials.

Collaborate with department leaders, elected officials, and boards on projects and initiatives.

Manage HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, personnel records, and hiring support.

Essential Skills

3+ years of administrative experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Experience in project coordination.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with administrative support, data entry, and clerical tasks.

Familiarity with front desk operations and calendar management.

Proficiency in scanning and filing.

Work Environment

The position is fully onsite, working from 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a 2-month contract to assist with the opening of a new library.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Suffolk, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
