Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing client's accounting team in Ontario, California. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, account reconciliations, inventory-related accounting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong general ledger experience, solid analytical skills, and a background working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments

Perform monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Maintain accurate financial records and support preparation of financial statements

Analyze inventory, cost variances, and manufacturing-related transactions

Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital project tracking

Reconcile inventory balances and assist with cycle count and physical inventory processes

Partner with operations and plant leadership to ensure accurate reporting of production costs

Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll reconciliations as needed

Help ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards

Support external audits and provide requested documentation

Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for management

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing or distribution

Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close

Experience with inventory, cost accounting, or standard costing is preferred

Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel

Knowledge of GAAP and internal control practices

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments

Preferred Qualifications:

Manufacturing industry experience

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics

Exposure to inventory controls, bill of materials, and variance analysis

CPA or CPA-track is a plus
