Job Title: Warehouse Assistant

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Status: Non-Exempt, Part-time

Job Summary

The Warehouse Assistant supports the organization's logistics and operational functions.

This role provides both administrative and technical support related to:

Inventory management of items received for storage and distribution

Order processing for various clients

Order fulfillment, packing, and shipment

The Warehouse Assistant plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with client-specific requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and maintain familiarity with all products and components inventoried, including understanding how each item is:

Stored

Assembled

Ordered

Fulfilled

Packed

Shipped

Reported in accordance with client agreements

Utilize inventory, ordering, and shipping systems to ensure all items are processed efficiently and cost-effectively

Handle delicate and sensitive products with a high level of care

Apply best practices in warehouse material handling and support continuous improvement initiatives with the Warehouse team

Determine appropriate storage locations and implement proper inventory rotation processes

Maintain accurate and complete paperwork associated with warehouse operations and deliveries

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Follow oral and written instructions accurately

Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and stakeholders

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4-8-hour shifts, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, climb steps and ladders while carrying 30 lb. boxes, and perform continuous repetitive movements. Candidates must also be comfortable working at varying temperatures and on concrete or potentially slippery surfaces.

Equipment Operations: Experience operating manual pallet jacks.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with:

Employees

Government agencies

Service providers

Program participants

External partners

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately

Strong time management skills, including the ability to:

Organize

Prioritize

Schedule tasks

Meet program goals

Working knowledge of:

Computer systems and networked environments

Database management systems for tracking and reporting

Basic familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite, including:

Word

Excel

Ability to work independently and complete assignments accurately, efficiently, and professionally
