Job Title: Warehouse Lead
Job Description
The Warehouse Lead supports daily warehouse operations by assisting with administrative tasks, performing the bulk of manual labor, and helping ensure the efficient flow of materials. This role combines sit-down forklift operation, order pulling, inventory management, and shipping and receiving activities in a hands-on warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
Assist warehouse leadership with administrative tasks to support smooth daily operations.
Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials.
Pull and prepare customer orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Load and unload trucks, ensuring products are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations.
Handle insulation and other construction products in accordance with safety and handling guidelines.
Perform general material handling duties, including staging, stacking, and organizing products.
Manage warehouse inventory by tracking stock levels, performing counts, and reporting discrepancies.
Support shipping and receiving activities, including checking in materials and preparing outbound shipments.
Use a computer to process orders, update inventory records, and complete basic data entry tasks.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies while performing manual labor tasks.
Collaborate with team members to ensure daily workload and operational goals are met.
Essential Skills
Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift safely in a warehouse environment.
Hands-on experience with order pulling and material handling.
Experience loading and unloading trucks in a warehouse or distribution setting.
Practical knowledge of warehouse inventory processes and stock organization.
Experience with shipping and receiving tasks in a warehouse environment.
Ability to perform computer operation for basic data entry and inventory updates.
Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
Comfort handling insulation and other construction products.
Willingness and physical ability to perform manual labor on a regular basis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in a smaller warehouse or distribution facility.
Background in handling commercial, marine, industrial, or environmental supplies is beneficial.
Familiarity with insulation products such as preformed pipe insulations, rigid and flexible duct insulations, cold system insulations, and steam and boiler insulations.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when pulling orders and managing inventory.
Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented work approach.

Work Environment
This role is based in a smaller, non-climate-controlled warehouse that supplies insulation and related products. You will work around commercial, marine, industrial, and environmental insulation materials, including preformed pipe insulations, rigid and flexible duct insulations, cold system insulations, and steam and boiler insulations, along with various accessories. The environment is hands-on and physically active, with regular manual labor, forklift operation, loading and unloading trucks, and handling construction products. Dress should be practical and suitable for a warehouse setting, with appropriate safety gear as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
