Oversee the vision & direction for Commercial Profitability platforms and methodologies. This includes ownership of enterprise product profitability across Commercial lines of business, as well as strategy and execution within the CFG historical Profitability Data Mart as well as CFG's forward looking Pricing Engine and related tooling. The role will drive consistency in how profitability is calculated, interpreted, and applied across the organization while partnering closely with Finance, Risk, and Business leaders.
This role is also expected to bring awareness of emerging AI capabilities and their applicability within profitability and data platforms. The individual should be able to identify opportunities to leverage AI to enhance data accessibility, improve insight generation, and simplify how business stakeholders interact with profitability information.
The candidate will be primarily responsible for profitability data enablement across all Commercial products, ensuring appropriate methodologies, tooling, and data are in place to support both forward-looking pricing decisions and backward-looking performance analysis. This role will consult with key partner leaders to align profitability frameworks with corporate financial objectives and provide guidance on implementation for expense allocation and margin optimization. This role will also be a key point person for Commercial Data Governance, ensuring the marts and feeds adhere to all requirements.
An important aspect of this role is to lead the roadmap for Profitability, both forward-looking and historical, ensuring the platform continues to evolve to meet business needs and deliver actionable insights. The individual will work directly with business stakeholders to translate complex financial concepts into practical solutions that drive better decision-making.
This role is the Product Owner for Commercial Enterprise Profitability, responsible for PO-related activities, working in an agile manner in the Bank's Modern Operating Model environment and aligned with technology partners supporting profitability tools and integrations.
Overall Responsibilities
Develop and maintain deep expertise across all Commercial products and their profitability drivers
Own and drive data strategy for Precision Lender and historical data mart implementations, enhancements, and integrations
Leverage familiarity with AI and advanced analytics capabilities to identify opportunities to streamline delivery, automate manual processes, and improve time-to-insight for business users
Identify and deliver AI-driven use cases (e.g., intelligent pricing support, automated profitability analysis, conversational access to data) that enhance decision-making and usability of profitability platforms
Partner with Technology and Data teams to explore integration of AI capabilities into existing tools
Partner closely with Finance to evaluate and implement appropriate expense allocation methodologies
Work directly with business stakeholders to identify needs, challenge assumptions, and drive optimal profitability solutions
Develop strategic roadmaps for profitability capabilities aligned with corporate financial and growth objectives
Establish and refine KPIs related to profitability, pricing effectiveness, and product performance
Product Ownership & Delivery
Act as Product Owner for Commercial Enterprise Profitability within the Modern Operating Model
Incorporate AI-enabled capabilities into the product roadmap where appropriate, balancing innovation with risk, governance, and business value
Evaluate opportunities to use AI to streamline delivery processes (e.g., requirements generation, testing acceleration, or workflow automation)
Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business priorities
Collaborate with technology partners to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions
Drive agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives) and ensure clear communication of priorities
Ensure ongoing platform stability, scalability, and performance
Stakeholder Engagement & Strategy
Build strong partnerships with Finance, Risk, and Commercial business leaders
Align profitability frameworks with corporate financial objectives
Provide thought leadership on profitability methodologies and business application
Translate complex financial and data concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders
Educate stakeholders on the potential of AI-driven insights and new interaction models (e.g., self-service analytics, conversational data access) to improve adoption and decision-making
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field required
Experience working with complex enterprise environments and large-scale platforms
Strong understanding of financial services data, including profitability or product-related data preferred
Experience in SQL and data query languages required
Experience working in agile environments and cross-functional teams
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this position is $111,000 - $148,000 per year, plus an opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus. Actual pay is based on various factors including but not limited to the budget, work location, and relevant skills and experience.
