Supply Support Specialist (2026-):
Bowhead seeks a Supply Support Specialist to join our team supporting a recently awarded contract providing small arms support to the USAF on Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland AFB, TX.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
Established supply regulations, policies, procedures, and other maintenance regulations applicable to the Small Arms Depot
Provide supply item management and maintain visibility of small arms weapons parts.
Identify, order, ship and store incoming parts/material, and maintain accountability of parts issued to USAF Small Arms Depot at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX.
Manage supply operations including inventory, receiving, purchasing, ordering, and warehousing of material.
Responsible for retrieving, packing, kitting, receipt and secure storage of Small Arms/Light Weapons (SA/LW), parts, and accessories.
Identify, order, ship, and store incoming parts, and maintain accountability of parts issued to the Air Force Small Arms Depot maintenance personnel.
Assists delivery drivers with loading and unloading assets delivered to the depot. Ensures the proper receipt, verification, and documentation of supplies and records discrepancies or damaged shipments, initiates appropriate corrective action.
Safely operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) (to include forklift) to relocate, store and load various @types of containers/pallets used to store and ship assets.
Provide a memorandum on company letterhead verifying forklift certification.
Maintains work order residue, shop stock of SA/LW parts, and accessories.
Maintains automated and manual accounting records, posts receipts and turn-ins. Receives, stores, issues, and moves assets within and out of storage activity and prepares material for off-base shipment.
Establishes requirements for customer using automated systems and notifies customer of asset availability.
Processes issues, turn-ins, obtains status of backorders, and other supply transactions to expedite shipping/delivery of assets. Prepares and processes Supply Point issues requests.
Conducts in-depth research of supply databases, catalogs, records, or other data sources to obtain stock numbers or to find authorized substitutes for stock items.
Accountable representative for unserviceable weapons parts/accessories turn-in processing to Defense Logistics Services (DLA) Disposition Services.
Provide advice, guidance, and assistance to internal/external customers; equipment custodian, and HAZMAT Monitor.
Maintain accountability/inventory of all weapons stored in the USAF Small Arms Depot
Qualifications
High school diploma required with a minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of supply systems, including Integrated Logistics System - Supply (ILS-S), Basing & Logistics Analytics Data Environment (BLADE), Federal Logistics (FED LOG) Data, FedMall, D043 Air Force Master Item Identification Control System.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience operating, maintaining, or supporting systems on VIRGINIA-class submarines is required.
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the secret level. Applicants who currently hold a secret clearance are encourage to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
