Description
Join the team that helps keep Lee County moving. As a Customer Service Specialist with LeeTran, you'll be the helpful voice riders count on every day. You will help people plan their trips, guide them through eligibility requirements, and ensure they can easily find the services that fit their needs. Duties and Responsibilities
What You'll Do
Speak with customers in person or on the phone to give them information about bus services.
Listen to customer problems and politely help solve them.
Use computer programs to enter and confirm trip reservations.
Check if customers are eligible for certain services and help them with applications.
Guide customers through the ADA eligibility process.
Look up directions and bus route details using maps and reference guides.
Sell bus passes and ID cards to customers.
Take payments by cash or credit card and make sure they are correct.
Balance the cash drawer and prepare money deposits.
Fill out forms, keep records, and work with electronic files.
Deliver bus schedules or other information when assigned.
Help with other duties as needed.
Education, Experience, Licensing
What We're Looking For
High diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
One (1) year of fast-paced, professional customer service or closely related experience
Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual preferred
Strong work ethic with a sense of urgency; adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments
Compassionate and professional when assisting individuals with disabilities
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
Able to read, follow instructions, and understand procedures, rules, and regulations
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn and grow
Proficient with computers and general office equipment
Supplemental Information
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with rotating weekends and some holidays

If you have retired from the Florida Retirement Pension plan you will not be eligible for renewed membership in either of the FRS retirement plan options. Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
