Job Description
The Warehouse Associate / Materials Associate accurately picks and moves medical and other materials using a voice-directed system (Voxware), handheld scanners, carts, and totes in a clean, climate-controlled warehouse. This role focuses on precise order picking, safe material handling, and timely delivery to support time-sensitive operations, with structured training provided and opportunities to work across different shifts.
Responsibilities
Pick orders accurately using the Voxware voice-picking system, headset, handheld device, and scanner, following all system prompts and instructions.
Use carts and totes to collect items, ensuring that each line item and quantity matches the order requirements.
Choose between picking with a pick sheet or the Voxware system when appropriate and follow established procedures for each method.
Walk an estimated 5 to 10 miles per shift while moving efficiently and safely through the warehouse to complete assigned orders.
Lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift while following safe lifting practices.
Complete each assigned order and verify that it is fully picked before moving it to the designated pack-out area.
Return to the supervisor or designated area to receive new orders promptly after completing each assignment.
Maintain strong attention to detail to ensure the correct items and quantities are picked, avoiding errors that could affect hospital deliveries.
Work with a sense of urgency and adhere to delivery schedules, understanding that the warehouse operates based on strict delivery times.
Follow inventory control practices such as order picking, packaging, loading, unloading, and assisting with warehouse inventory tasks as needed.
Operate warehouse equipment such as sit-down or stand-up forklifts and use RF scanners if trained and assigned to do so.
Support cycle counts and basic inventory control activities to help maintain accurate warehouse inventory records.
Adhere to all safety rules, including wearing appropriate footwear and maintaining awareness of surroundings while using one headphone when permitted.
Demonstrate reliable attendance, arrive on time for scheduled shifts, and communicate appropriately regarding any absences.
Participate in the 1-2 week training period, actively learning systems, processes, and safety procedures to become fully proficient in the role.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors in a respectful, cooperative manner to meet daily and weekly warehouse goals.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards, supporting the overall cleanliness and organization of the facility.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
Ability to walk 5 to 10 miles per shift in a warehouse environment.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate picking and prevent incorrect items from being shipped.
Reliable attendance and a strong sense of responsibility.
Sense of urgency and ability to work within time-sensitive delivery schedules.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
Capability to work with voice-directed picking systems, headsets, handheld devices, and scanners after training.
Comfort working in a structured warehouse environment with established procedures and performance expectations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ideally 3 years of previous warehouse experience.
Experience with order picking, packing, loading, unloading, and general warehouse operations.
Familiarity with RF scanners for inventory and order management.
Experience operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
Experience in inventory control, warehouse inventory, and cycle counting.
Stable work history with consistent job tenure.
Ability to work either 1st shift (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) or 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.), with some overtime as needed.
Comfort using both paper pick sheets and technology-based picking systems.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, climate-controlled, and well-organized warehouse with a close-knit, relaxed culture focused on completing work accurately and on schedule. The team size is approximately 22 employees, including supervisors. The facility uses Voxware voice-picking technology, headsets, handheld devices, RF scanners, carts, totes, and may involve sit-down and stand-up forklifts. Available shifts include 1st shift (8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) and 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.), with some overtime as needed. Team members receive two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch, and they may leave the site for lunch if they clock out and back in. The breakroom includes vending machines, a television, ample seating, microwaves, and refrigerators, though there is no cafeteria. Dress is casual and practical: employees may wear shorts and short-sleeve shirts as long as clothing fits properly and does not display vulgar, profane, or offensive writing or graphics. Closed-toe shoes are required, and tennis shoes are acceptable. Employees may use one headphone so they can still hear their surroundings, with the understanding that this policy may change if it becomes a safety concern.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
