Job Title: Industrial Maintenance / PLC Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently through hands-on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. You will diagnose equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance, and work with PLCs, VFDs, and high-voltage systems to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly to minimize production downtime.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and automated production equipment.
Diagnose and repair motors, drives, and other industrial machinery and components.
Work with PLCs, VFDs, and high-voltage electrical systems as part of daily maintenance and repair activities.
Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform repairs and adjustments.
Follow all safety standards and procedures, including proper lockout/tagout practices when working on equipment.
Interpret and use electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to identify and correct equipment problems.
Troubleshoot PLC controls and related automation systems to restore proper operation.
Perform maintenance and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in production equipment.
Utilize CMMS or maintenance tracking systems to document work performed and track equipment history.
Assist in basic welding or fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment.
Inspect sensors, relays, motor controls, and other electrical components to ensure reliable operation.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify root causes of equipment issues and recommend improvements.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and adhere to all facility and equipment guidelines.
Essential Skills
Electrical and mechanical knowledge applicable to industrial maintenance work.
Minimum of 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
Ability to perform maintenance and repair on industrial equipment and motors.
Comfort working with PLCs, VFDs, and related control systems in an industrial setting.
Ability to work safely with high-voltage electrical systems following established procedures.
Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for maintenance and repair tasks.
Knowledge of sensors, relays, and motor controls and their role in industrial automation.
Experience using CMMS or maintenance tracking systems to record and manage work orders.
Ability to follow safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures, in a production environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with PLC programming, PLC troubleshooting, and PLC control systems.
Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and related motor control equipment.
Background in preventive maintenance programs and maintenance repair practices.
Basic welding or fabrication skills for equipment repair and modification.
Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and blueprints with accuracy.
Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, or production facilities.
Engineering-related knowledge or exposure supporting equipment and process improvements.
Strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting techniques in industrial environments.
Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial automation components.
Comfort working with non-climate-controlled equipment and environments.
Attention to detail and strong documentation skills when recording maintenance activities.

Work Environment
The role is based in a non-climate-controlled industrial facility with active production equipment and standard manufacturing conditions. You will work on-site in a hands-on capacity, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and industrial maintenance equipment. The position follows a structured shift schedule with options including 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM. Work is performed around machinery, electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics, requiring adherence to all safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
