What you'll do...
Job Description
Maintain the highest standards of quality and food safety by monitoring, testing, recording, and responding to data related to product quality, production, and manufacturing processes.
Monitor quality metrics, including Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Verify that raw materials and finished products comply with all federal, state, and company specifications.
Produce accurate laboratory results while effectively multitasking in a fast-paced work environment.
Anticipate potential problems or conflicts and maintain a proactive approach to supporting business operations.
Complete work assignments and prioritize tasks by:
Utilizing company policies, data, and available resources.
Collaborating with managers, associates, customers, and business partners.
Identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations.
Communicating progress and relevant information.
Identifying and recommending process improvement opportunities.
Adapting to change, overcoming challenges, and incorporating feedback.
Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by:
Implementing required action plans.
Utilizing and supporting the Open Door Policy.
Applying company policies in daily business processes and practices.
Maintain knowledge of laboratory functions, including:
Laboratory operations.
Equipment calibration.
Preventive maintenance.
Troubleshooting and repair of laboratory equipment.
Cross-train within the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (QA) department to support specialized functions, including:
MSS
Validation Coordinator
Sanitation Specialist
Quality Systems Specialist
Microbiology Technician
Maintain and sustain the plant's calibration program for laboratory instruments and equipment.
Apply a continuous improvement mindset by:
Identifying and correcting process improvement opportunities.
Conducting Statistical Process Control (SPC) analyses.
Performing root cause analysis.
Participating in projects that support continuous improvement initiatives.
Support and promote best practices in:
Food Safety
Sanitation
Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Root Cause Analysis
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Product Quality
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $28.80The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
