Job Description
The Construction Laborer plays a hands-on role in supporting commercial construction projects with a strong focus on concrete, asphalt, and general site work. This position suits someone who enjoys physical work, thrives in a team environment, and is eager to build a long-term career in the construction trades through practical, on-the-job experience.
Responsibilities
Perform general construction labor, including lifting, carrying, cutting, measuring, and assembling materials to support daily job site activities.
Support concrete and asphalt crews with preparation, pouring, finishing, patching, and cleanup to ensure high-quality surfaces and structures.
Assist with site preparation by loading and unloading materials, staging work areas, and maintaining clean, organized, and safe job sites.
Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively in accordance with company and safety guidelines.
Follow blueprints, plans, and supervisor instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
Work alongside skilled trades such as carpenters, equipment operators, and concrete finishers to complete various phases of construction projects.
Inspect tools, materials, and equipment for defects or safety concerns and report any issues promptly to supervision.
Work collaboratively with the crew to meet production goals, quality standards, and project timelines.
Follow all OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.
Essential Skills
At least 1 year of experience working on new construction job sites.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, bending, and working on feet for extended periods.
Experience with general construction work, including site construction and basic carpentry tasks.
Hands-on experience with concrete work, including concrete finishing and handling rebar and other concrete-related materials.
Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively in a construction setting.
Understanding of basic construction processes involving concrete, asphalt, and general site work.
Possession of basic personal hand tools suitable for construction tasks.
Must have required PPE, including steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to and from project sites.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including blueprints and directions from supervisors.
Commitment to following OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience working on commercial construction projects, including buildings, garages, and site work.
Familiarity with concrete, asphalt, excavation, and structural construction methods.
Comfort working in a production-driven environment that requires strong situational awareness and teamwork.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse construction crews and skilled trades.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new skills and techniques.

Work Environment
Work typically begins at 6:00 a.m. and continues until the job for the day is complete, requiring flexibility in daily end times. The role involves regular exposure to both indoor and outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and precipitation, depending on project location and season. Construction sites include exposure to moving mechanical parts, heavy construction equipment, and active work areas, requiring constant situational awareness and adherence to safety protocols. The environment is production-driven and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on coordination, communication, and safe work practices. Appropriate PPE, including steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing, is required on site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elizabethville, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $25.00/hr.
