Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND BENEFITS DIVISION of NAVY PERSONNEL COMMAND RESERVE. Responsibilities You will review, evaluate, and make recommendations on routine, controversial, and complex cases. You will conduct spot checks of the document listings and make appropriate corrections. You will obtain data needed for the completion, verification, and or maintenance of personnel records to keep them current, accurate, and complete in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures. You will provide customer service in person, by telephone, and email. You will establish and maintain office files, logs, manuals, listings, regulations, historical files, etc. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing knowledge of policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain personnel service records; 2) Researching information in records and databases in order to respond to inquiries regarding human resources issues; 3) Utilizing automated systems to create and maintain records; and 4) Communicating effectively, orally and in writing, to interact with leadership and personnel at all levels. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
