5-Axis CNC Mill Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for our machine shop located in Santa Ana, CA. The position is for the day shift from 5:30am to 2pm. The role requires expertise in setup and operation of CNC Mill machines, with a strong emphasis on manual machining and quality control. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of machining processes to ensure efficient and accurate production.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Planning, Quality, and Production teams to meet production goals.

Setup and operate CNC machines using engineering drawings or customer-supplied .step files.

Accurately interpret blueprints to determine machining requirements.

Diagnose and resolve machine malfunctions and programming errors.

Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in efficiency and quality.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in CNC machine setup and operation.

Ability to interpret blueprints accurately.

Experience with 3-axis verticals and 4-axis horizontals, with 5-axis experience being a plus.

Strong understanding of CNC programming languages, including G-code and M-code.

Comprehensive knowledge of FANUC, OKUMA, and KITAMURA controls.

Expertise in blueprint interpretation and creation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of combined experience in machining for a machine shop.

Experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry and adherence to industry specifications.

Experience working with various @types of metals.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Authorization to work in the U.S. and compliance with I-9 and E-Verify requirements.

Work Environment

Work in a mid-sized machine shop with a current staff of around 45, including a machining team of 25 members and 4-5 programmers. The facility includes a deburr department, quality control, and shipping.

This is a Permanent position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $93600.00/yr.

PTO, full benefits, dental vision, 401k

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Santa Ana,CA.
