What you'll be doing
We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Specialist to join our Private Wealth Middle Office team. This role serves as a subject matter expert supporting complex client asset movement requests and federal tax payment processing activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong operational background within wealth management, brokerage, trust, or private banking environments and possess deep knowledge of asset transfer workflows, tax payment processing, regulatory requirements, and risk controls.

How you'll succeed
Asset Transfer Operations
Process and oversee domestic and international asset transfers, including ACATS and non-ACATS transfers.
Review and validate transfer documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Partner with custodians, broker-dealers, advisors, and client service teams to resolve transfer exceptions and expedite requests.
Investigate and resolve complex transfer issues, rejected transfers, and reconciliation discrepancies.
Monitor transfer activity to ensure service level commitments and risk controls are maintained.
Federal Tax Payment Operations
Process federal tax payments and withholding-related transactions for client accounts.
Coordinate tax payment activities with advisors, custodians, trust officers, and external tax professionals as appropriate.
Review tax payment requests for accuracy, authorization, and compliance with internal policies.
Monitor payment status and resolve exceptions, rejected transactions, and payment discrepancies.
Maintain documentation supporting audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Who you are
Serve as a subject matter expert for asset transfer and tax payment processes.
Mentor and train team members on procedures, best practices, and risk mitigation techniques.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced client experience.
Participate in testing, implementation, and documentation of operational enhancements.
Assist leadership with workflow management, quality reviews, and special projects.
Support internal and external audit requests and regulatory examinations.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
5+ years of experience in wealth management, private banking, trust operations, brokerage operations, or related financial services operations.
Strong experience processing asset transfers, including ACATS and non-ACATS transactions.
Experience supporting federal tax payment processing, tax withholding transactions, or related tax operations.
Strong understanding of operational controls, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
Experience with private wealth, trust, or high-net-worth client operations.
Familiarity with custodial platforms and wealth management systems.
Knowledge of IRS payment processes and tax reporting requirements.
Experience leading training initiatives or mentoring team members.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $75,000K - $85,000K for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
