Temporary Assignment (1-3 Months)
Shift: 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
Pay Rate: $24-30
Paid Weekly
Willingness to work non-standard hours, overtime, and respond to emergencies as needed
What's a typical day as a Maintenance Technician? You'll be:
Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on chemical processing equipment (such as pumps, valves, reactors, and distillation units) to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions, leaks, and other issues, and developing solutions to resolve them promptly
Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures in handling hazardous chemicals, maintaining equipment, and conducting repairs
Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and modifications to ensure regulatory compliance
Responding promptly to emergencies like chemical spills, leaks, or equipment failures, taking measures to contain and minimize risks
Monitoring chemical inventories and equipment spare parts, coordinating with procurement to ensure adequate supplies
Providing guidance and training to operators and other maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices
Identifying opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings, collaborating with engineering as needed
Performing other duties as assigned by management
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
Have a high school diploma or equivalent (required); additional technical training or certification in chemical maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred
Bring a minimum of 4-5 years of experience in maintenance or a similar role within a manufacturing or processing environment
Possess strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processing equipment and systems, including pumps, valves, and piping for liquid transport
Demonstrate a deep commitment to safety practices and protocols, especially in handling hazardous chemicals and operating industrial equipment
Excel in troubleshooting and problem-solving, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact with colleagues, vendors, and contractors, and to document activities accurately
Work well independently and collaboratively within a team, with a willingness to support colleagues and maintain a positive work culture
Are flexible and willing to work non-standard hours, overtime, and respond to emergencies as needed
Possess intermediate knowledge of pipe fitting, carpentry, welding, electrical and mechanical systems, with some knowledge of building and electrical codes and OSHA regulations
Are able to perform physical work, including walking between departments, using stairs and ladders, bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and wearing appropriate PPE
