About the Role:

As a Server for Hotel St. Michael in Prescott, Arizona, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests by providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service. Your primary objective is to ensure customer satisfaction by accurately taking orders, serving food and beverages, and addressing any guest needs or concerns promptly. You will collaborate closely with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate timely and accurate delivery of orders. Maintaining a clean and organized work environment while adhering to health and safety standards is essential. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and positive reviews.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a customer service or food service role preferred but not required.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.

Basic math skills for handling transactions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.

Ability to multitask effectively under pressure.

Bilingual abilities to assist a diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

Greet and seat guests in a courteous and professional manner.

Present menus, explain daily specials, and answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.

Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.

Serve food and drinks promptly while ensuring order accuracy and presentation standards.

Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or special requests.

Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to coordinate order timing and delivery.

Process payments and provide correct change or receipts.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including tables, chairs, and service stations.

Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Skills:

The required skills such as communication and interpersonal abilities are essential for engaging with guests and ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously. Basic math skills are used daily to accurately process payments and handle transactions. Physical stamina is necessary to manage the demands of standing and moving throughout the shift. Preferred skills like familiarity with POS systems streamline order entry and payment processing, enhancing efficiency. Multitasking and problem-solving skills help manage multiple tables and guest requests simultaneously, ensuring smooth service flow and a positive dining experience.
