Job Overview
The Sr. Manager, Energy Mgmt. / Utilities is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the safe, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of utilities and energy systems supporting manufacturing, laboratory, and commercial operations. This role has a direct impact on operational continuity, sustainability performance, cost optimization, and regulatory compliance.
This position leads energy strategy, utilities operations, and capital planning while advancing decarbonization, reliability, and resilience initiatives across the New Brunswick campus.
Key Responsibilities
Leadsite-wideenergy management and utilities operations, including electricity, steam, chilled water, compressed air, natural gas, and water systems.
Develop and executeenergy efficiency, decarbonization, and sustainability initiativesaligned with enterprise goals and regulatory requirements.
Ownutilitiesreliability, capacity planning, and risk mitigationto ensure uninterrupted operations for manufacturing and critical facilitiesglobally.
Manageoperating and capital budgets, includinglong-rangeutilitiesinfrastructure planning and lifecycle asset management.
Partnerand develop amulti-disciplinaryteamof engineers, technicians, and external service providers, ensuringstrong performancemanagement and talent development.
Ensure full compliance withenvironmental, safety, and regulatory standards(EPA, OSHA,stateand local authorities).
Serve as the primarytechnical and strategic partnerto site leadershipteams, manufacturing, EHS, and sustainability stakeholders.
Overseethird-partyutility providers and contractors, including contract negotiations, performance metrics, and service delivery.
Establish global framework andmethodologyfor sustainable energy improvement programs and partner closely with site operations and facilities managers to implement those programs.
Develop the energy sustainability initiative roadmap for global facilitiesand inform the capital appropriations process and LRFP for sustainability initiatives.
Partner with global real estate& global EHS&Sto develop a strategy for energy sustainability programs andestablishnear-term and long-term goals for sustainabilityimprovments.
Qualifications
Education
Required:Bachelor's degree in Engineering(Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Energy Engineering, or relatedfield).
Preferred:Master's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or Business Administration (MBA).
Experience and Skills
Required:
8-10 yearsof progressive experience inenergy management, utilities, facilities engineering, or industrial infrastructure, includingpeopleleadership responsibilities.
Demonstrated experience managingcentral utility plants and complex site utilitiesin a regulated manufacturing or laboratory environment.
Strong knowledge ofenergy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonization strategies.
Proven ability to managecapital projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
Experience leading teams with a strong focus onsafety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Experience in developing long range planning on sustainability programs andaligning organization goals to strategic energy and sustainability initiatives
Preferred:
Experience inpharmaceutical, medical device, or regulated life sciences manufacturingenvironments.
Familiarity withISO 50001, utility benchmarking, and energy analytics platforms.
Experience supportingcorporate sustainability reporting and ESG initiatives.
Demonstrated success drivingcontinuous improvement andcost-reductionprograms.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$122,000.00 - $212,750.00
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
