1st shift EDM Operator - Direct Hire
Location: Youngstown, OH
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour (based on experience)

KELLY is seeking a skilled EDM Operator to join our manufacturing team in Youngstown, Ohio. This direct-hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced machinist with expertise in Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) who takes pride in producing high-quality precision components. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining EDM equipment while ensuring products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate Wire EDM and/or Sinker EDM machines to manufacture precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, process sheets, and technical documentation.
Load materials, fixtures, tooling, and machine programs for production runs.
Monitor machine performance to ensure dimensional accuracy, quality standards, and production efficiency.
Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Make machine adjustments and offsets as needed to maintain product quality.
Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and process issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Maintain accurate production records, quality documentation, and ERP system transactions.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and basic machine upkeep.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S and company safety standards.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.
2-5 years of experience operating Wire EDM and/or Sinker EDM equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications.
Proficiency using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
