Senior Business Analyst - Payments (SWIFT, ACH, Securities, Banking) Location: Pittsburgh, PA/Hybrid Duration: 7 Months Description: Must Experience in FinTech, Working with Payments (Swift - MT, MX messages, ACH - NACHA formats), Securities messages JIRA, Confluence, Strong SQL skills, Data Analysis skills, Agile Experience (Epics, Stories, Working in Scrum/Sprint), Python (good to have) Good to Have Experience/Exposure to Financial Crimes Compliance - such as AML, Alert Investigations, Knowledge with Actimize or any other AML products. Job Summary : Sr Business Analyst for a multinational payments product team, responsible for driving functional analysis, requirement refinement, and solution validation for complex digital payment journeys across channels. Role focuses on aligning business needs with product capabilities, optimizing transaction flows, and ensuring regulatory compliant, secure, and seamless customer experiences. Experience : 10 - 14 years Required Skills : Technical Skills: Payments Product Functional Domain Skills: Technology : Custom Service Responsibilities : Drive detailed functional analysis of payment product features by collaborating with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering squads to translate complex business needs into clear solution requirements that are practical and testable Document end to end payment workflows including authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling to ensure full coverage of functional and nonfunctional requirements Analyze existing payment products and customer journeys to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities that enhance transaction speed, reliability, and user experience Coordinate requirements grooming sessions with cross functional teams to clarify priorities, resolve ambiguities, and maintain a healthy backlog of well defined user stories for day based release cycles Prepare high quality user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and process maps for payment solutions so that engineering and testing teams can deliver features with minimal rework Perform impact assessments for new features and regulatory changes across upstream and downstream systems including core banking, risk, reconciliation, and reporting platforms Partner with product owners to define and refine product roadmaps, release scopes, and success measures that align with enterprise strategy and customer needs in the digital payments space Support day to day delivery by clarifying functional queries, validating design options, and reviewing test scenarios so that defects and production incidents are minimized Conduct functional testing and user acceptance review for critical payment features, ensuring that end user flows, exception paths, and edge cases behave as expected in a hybrid work environment Collaborate with risk, compliance, and security teams to ensure payment features adhere to regulatory standards, internal policies, and industry schemes across the markets served by the organization Prepare clear functional documentation, operating procedures, and reference guides so that operations and support teams can manage payment transactions efficiently during day shifts Monitor key payment metrics such as transaction success rates, declines, and processing times and use insights to recommend enhancements that improve customer trust and satisfaction Engage in continuous improvement activities by reviewing incident trends, process bottlenecks, and feedback from customers and colleagues to drive sustainable product and process improvements Qualifications Possess extensive experience in payment products with strong understanding of card payments, account to account transfers, digital wallets, and related transaction lifecycles across channels Demonstrate proven ability to work as a senior business analyst for ten to fourteen years in large scale financial services or technology organizations supporting complex product portfolios Exhibit strong skills in requirements elicitation, process modeling, use case analysis, and backlog refinement using industry standard tools and methods suitable for hybrid ways of working Apply sound knowledge of regulatory frameworks, scheme rules, and compliance expectations relevant to domestic and cross border payments to ensure safe and compliant solutions Utilize practical experience in working with agile delivery models including participation in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and review ceremonies for payment focused initiatives Show proficiency in collaborating with engineering, quality assurance, and operations teams to validate requirements, support testing, and manage releases during day schedules Leverage excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to explain complex payment concepts in simple terms and build shared understanding across technical and nontechnical audiences Display strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret data, identify root causes, and recommend actions that improve payment performance and customer outcomes Combine attention to detail with a structured approach to documentation, ensuring that requirements, functional specifications, and user guides remain accurate and current over the product lifecycle Years of Experience: 14.00 Years of Experience Skills: Category Name Required Importance BFS SWIFT Yes 1 Functional Testing Jira Yes 1
