The Business Systems Analyst I supports the design, development, implementation, change management, and end-user support activities associated with the Department of Public Health (DPH) and Department of Mental Health (DMH) Electronic Health Record (EHR) program. This entry-level role works collaboratively with technical, operational, clinical, and vendor teams to support business process analysis, system configuration, testing, training, end-user support, and organizational change management initiatives related to the EHR implementation. The position may also assist in coordinating system and hardware integration efforts involving Health IT systems and biomedical devices, while helping to ensure the successful adoption of new workflows, technologies, and operational processes across agency environments. Key Responsibilities: · Assist in the analysis, documentation, and validation of business and clinical workflows related to EHR implementation. · Support system design, development, testing, and implementation activities for EHR applications and related technologies. · Participate in requirements gathering sessions with operational, clinical, and technical stakeholders. · Assist document business processes, workflow diagrams, meeting notes, and functional requirements. · Assist with issue tracking, troubleshooting, and resolution coordination between end users, IT staff, and vendors. · Support implementation and coordination of hardware devices integrated with the EHR environment, including workstations, mobile devices, printers, scanners, barcode readers, and biomedical/clinical devices. · Assist in validating hardware functionality and device connectivity within clinical and operational workflows. · Coordinate with infrastructure, networking, and application teams to support device deployment and system readiness activities. · Participate in testing activities related to integrated systems and device interoperability. · Provide day-to-day support to end users during system implementation and post-go-live activities. · Respond to and triage user questions, system issues, and workflow concerns. · Assist with system demonstrations and provide guidance to users on standard EHR functionality and workflows. · Support development of user support documentation, quick reference guides, and FAQs. · Assist with organizational change management activities to support successful adoption of new systems and workflows. · Help coordinate communication efforts related to project milestones, system updates, downtime notifications, and workflow changes. · Participate in go-live readiness activities and provide onsite/user support during implementation events. · Translate business specifications into technical requirements that, once implemented, meet as closely as possible, the requirements of the business community. · Gain knowledge of the business and systems/ application stack. · Work with other Senior Business Analysts to learn best practices, identify and implement standard requirement gathering processes and tools, and improve communication across IT teams. · Assist in documentation requirements and participate in their development (design, construction, testing, and roll-out). · Assist in performing needs analysis to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions. · May be required to be on call, based on departmental needs. · Perform related duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience in business analysis, project management or in a technical liaison capacity. · Ability to write clearly and concisely, communicating effectively and interacting professionally with a diverse user group, including executives, managers, and end users. · Knowledge of software development life cycle or project life cycle. · Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines, while also adjusting to changing situations and meet changing priorities, · Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, applications and systems. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills both technical and non-technical. · Ability to work independently and in a team environment with varying levels; team members, peers, management, and business stakeholders. · Capable of relationship building with diverse stakeholders at varying levels and with cross-functional teams. · Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
