Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a real estate and property organization in West Des Moines, Iowa. This position focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with period-end activities, and helping ensure reporting is completed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in property management accounting and can work effectively across multiple responsibilities in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and record journal entries with strong attention to accuracy and supporting documentation.

Maintain general ledger activity and review account balances to help ensure financial records remain complete and reliable.

Assist with month-end close tasks, including reconciliations, variance review, and timely completion of assigned deliverables.

Support accounting processes related to property management operations, including tracking financial activity across assigned properties.

Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues efficiently.

Help compile financial statements and internal reports for management review and operational decision-making.

Partner with internal teams to gather accounting information, answer questions, and improve day-to-day financial accuracy. Requirements
