Starting Salary Range: $90,001.60 - $93,017.60 Annually
*This position is eligible for a hybrid and/or remote working arrangement. Hybrid positions are expected to be present at the office location for no less than one day per work week.

We are looking for a visionary, high-level subject matter expert to take our Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) training and operational ecosystem to the next level. We don't just need an instructor; we need a strategic practitioner who can architect statewide training infrastructure while auditing, consulting on, and optimizing our internal workflows.
The WAP network spans all 64 Colorado counties, delivering critical energy efficiency and clean energy solutions to diverse populations. As our Senior Training Specialist, you will step into a high-impact, expert role-serving as part of a team that is the definitive authority on building science education while acting as an internal and network consultant to streamline operations and program delivery. You should be passionate about workforce development, operational excellence, and driving the clean energy transition.
General Duties and Responsibilities
In this senior-level specialist capacity, you will blend advanced instructional design with administrative leadership and process optimization:
Strategic Training Architecture: Oversee the comprehensive design, development, and management of technical training curricula for energy auditors, inspectors, and field technicians statewide.
Process & Workflow Consulting: Act as an internal consultant to analyze existing WAP administrative procedures, identify operational bottlenecks, and design streamlined, automated processes to improve program delivery across local agencies.
Systemic Impact Tracking: Establish, formalize, and manage advanced data metrics to track both training effectiveness and the efficiency gains from newly implemented administrative workflows over time.
Administrative Oversight: Ensure that all back-end training administration, reporting, and documentation compliance standards are managed seamlessly and efficiently.
Workforce Development Partnerships: Collaborate deeply with the CEO Climate Workforce Development Manager to conduct statewide training needs assessments and innovate new educational pathways.
Change Management & Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and empower agency trainers across the state while guiding teams through process changes and operational updates.
Strategic Planning & Procurement: Provide critical high-level input during WAP strategic planning sessions and manage the strategic procurement and contract compliance of specialized external vendors and consultants.
Equity & Inclusion: Actively advance Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) initiatives, ensuring training programs and administrative processes are accessible, equitable, and culturally responsive.

We are looking for an experienced specialist who pairs technical building science awareness with sophisticated adult learning expertise and a knack for operational consulting.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing complex technical training programs, paired with demonstrated experience in business process improvement, operations management, or administrative consulting.
Technical Awareness: Advanced, expert-level understanding of residential building science, clean energy solutions, and home energy efficiency principles.
Adult Learning Theory: Demonstrated mastery of instructional design concepts, curriculum development, and Adult Learning Theory.
Communication & Influence: Exceptional ability to facilitate workshops, consult with diverse stakeholder groups, and translate complex processes into clear, actionable standard operating procedures.
Operational Independence: A proven track record of independently spearheading projects from conception to completion, managing multiple timelines, and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
Travel & Logistics: Ability to travel up to 20% of the time across Colorado to build local agency relationships and evaluate program efficacy. Must possess a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Process Improvement Mindset: Proven ability to map workflows, identify administrative inefficiencies, and implement process-driven solutions.
