Description

We are looking for an Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations for an organization in Monmouth County, New Jersey. This Long-term position is ideal for someone who is eager to build hands-on accounting experience while contributing to invoicing, cash application, reconciliations, and reporting activities. The role offers close collaboration with accounting leadership and exposure to core month-end processes in a fast-paced business environment.

Responsibilities:

Create and process customer invoices each day, ensuring billing information is accurate and completed on schedule.

Send finalized invoices to clients promptly and maintain organized records of billing activity.

Record incoming customer payments and apply cash receipts correctly within the general ledger.

Perform routine reconciliations for receivables, sales activity, credit-related accounts, and other key balances to confirm ledger accuracy.

Support the month-end close by preparing journal entry details and assisting the Controller with accounting adjustments.

Compile weekly financial summaries and provide additional analytical support when requested.

Participate in team meetings and communicate updates related to accounting tasks and priorities.

Prepare special reports and assist with finance-related projects assigned by the Controller.

Use accounting software such as Peachtree or similar platforms like QuickBooks to maintain financial data and transaction records.
