AA Vacations owns American's packaged products, analysis, strategy, and execution that drive value for customers seeking travel experiences beyond air-only. Our products and monetization efforts drive profitability for American and create seamless experiences across the entire customer travel journey - from ground to air to hotel and more.
As a Sales Manager you will be a part of the sales team that owns strategy and manages a portfolio of accounts to drive incremental revenue, maximize value and innovate the AA Vacations customer experience across our direct advisor relationships.
What you'll do
Influences AA Vacations sales strategy & execution
Fosters a customer-centric culture of learning, experimentation, and data-led decisions to advance AA Vacations sales strategies and understand predictors of advisor/agency behaviors that drive performance across aavacations.com
Inspires and builds strategic plans for top advisor/agency accounts to drive accountable execution and achieve incremental profitability & revenue outcomes
Implements account management best practices, communications and account support process improvement, including: quarterly business reviews, customer resolution/escalation and account coverage & commission/marketing fund optimization
Develops industry relationships to deeply understand travel advisor and agency motives among individual advisors and senior agency leadership - represents the voice of the customer by collecting market feedback, competitive intelligence, and industry best practices to influence decisions
Collaborates with Global Sales, Marketing, Reservations, Customer Relations, and IT to identify new business opportunities, build consensus and incorporate enterprise-level assets and objectives into AA Vacations' DNA, including upsell/cross sell, premium, cobrand and loyalty
Represents AA Vacations at industry events, including various speaking and panel engagements
Must be willing to travel when needed for business (50%+)
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
2 years of related experience in travel industry, including sales, customer-facing or external customer/vendor relationship management responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Prior experience in Sales, Marketing, Distribution, Revenue Management or travel company experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Demonstrates the highest standards of personal ethics and integrity
Strong problem solving, negotiation, and critical thinking ability with entrepreneurial mindset
Strong experience in internal & external collaboration
Proficient presenter of both written and verbal communication in small group and large audience settings
Action-oriented, data & results-driven, customer-focused sales manager with a natural aptitude for seeking opportunities that transform existing business models
Ability to be flexible in rapidly changing conditions and priorities
Ability to identify creative and innovative solutions to complex problems
Proven ability to collaborate and develop strong, productive relationships at all levels, both internally and externally
Understands, and is motivated by, what is involved to change the status quo and the art and science of negotiating, internally and externally, to achieve desired outcomes
