Salary: $90,000 - $130,000 Overview

System One is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead manufacturing operations for a growing production facility in Currie, North Carolina. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving production performance, developing frontline leaders, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring a safe, high-quality manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing leadership, production planning, continuous improvement, and team development. This position requires a visible presence on the shop floor and the ability to lead by example while driving accountability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals are achieved

Manage production schedules and capacity planning to meet customer commitments and business objectives

Ensure products are manufactured to customer specifications and quality standards

Monitor KPIs and production metrics to drive fact-based decision-making and continuous improvement

Develop, coach, and mentor supervisors and production personnel

Establish accountability and performance expectations across manufacturing teams

Maintain a strong shop floor presence and actively support production teams

Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, and process standardization

Identify and implement process improvements to increase throughput and operational efficiency

Partner with Engineering on equipment performance, modernization efforts, and automation initiatives

Support development and execution of preventive maintenance programs

Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Sales, and HR to ensure alignment across departments

Promote a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered

5-10+ years of progressive manufacturing or operations leadership experience

Proven experience leading production teams in a manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and operational metrics

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or similar continuous improvement methodologies

Demonstrated success developing frontline leaders and building high-performing teams

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Ability to work onsite and maintain a consistent presence on the manufacturing floor

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in metal fabrication, welding, heavy manufacturing, or industrial production environments

Experience within nuclear, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries

Equipment modernization, automation, or capital project experience

Preventive maintenance program development and implementation experience

Strong track record of improving productivity, quality, and operational performance
