THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role focuses on improving public health by assessing needs, developing programs, and supporting community-based health efforts. As a Community Health Nurse, you will perform the following duties:
Health Assessment:Review data and community information to identify local public health needs and guide health programs
Program Development:Create and support public health initiatives that address key health priorities in the community
Community Engagement:Work with local partners, committees, and organizations to coordinate health efforts and share important health information
Disease Monitoring:Track reportable diseases and participate in investigations to support disease control and prevention
Health Education:Provide education and guidance on public health topics to help individuals and groups make informed decisions
Clinical Services:Deliver direct health services such as immunizations and testing in accordance with public health guidelines

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Work infrequently requires statewide travel and irregular or flexible work hours including overnights, weekends, and holidays in accordance with policy.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
