Job Overview
Facilitates, administers and organizes the day to day operations of the men's basketball office - specifically for the head coach. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: word processing; creation of spreadsheets; maintenance and up-keep of the men's basketball recruiting database, alumni database and Friends & Family database; creation and mail-out of the men's basketball newsletter; scheduling of appointments; handling mail; and generating correspondence letters to recruits, including questionnaires and weekly game articles. Requires knowledge of NCAA rules, particularly those pertaining to the recruitment of prospective student-athletes. Creates and maintains a scrapbook of each season with newspaper clippings. Responsible for ordering supplies for the office and handling the invoices, communication with University and external individuals, development and administration of projects. Serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies, and coordinates the planning of meetings and events. Position requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously with moderate supervision.

Work Interactions
Administrative support to the men's basketball office. Reports directly to the Head Men's Basketball Coach, but works closely with the three assistant coaches and the director of basketball operations. The role of the Administrative assistant is to make sure the office is consistently organized and to facilitate communication between staff members.
Requirements and Qualifications
1-3 years of administrative experience and progressive experience in MS Office applications.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems, as well as strong computer skills; commitment to efficiency and timeliness, and the principles and processes for providing quality customer service; ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain such relationships over time; and ability to interact with University officials, representatives of the NCAA and Big East, alumni, donors and the general public.
Must be reliable, responsible and dependable in regard to work schedule. Required to be attentive to detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Must provide good customer service - be pleasant with others on the job and display a good-natured, cooperative attitude. Must be honest and ethical. Must be able to accept criticism and be open to change. Must be able to effectively and efficiently manage a multitude of tasks.
Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$47,586.00 - $87,558.13
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
