Administrative Assistant - Social Work Support (Juvenile Corrections)

Location: Chehalis, WA 98532

Pay: $25-$30/hour depending on experience and education

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts (flexible between 7:00 AM-7:00 PM based on Social Worker schedule)

Contract Length: 13- 26 weeks

Work Setting: 3+ days onsite, up to 2 days remote

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support a Social Worker within a juvenile correctional facility. This role plays a key part in coordinating care and supporting youth through structured care planning and documentation.

The ideal candidate has experience working with underserved or at-risk populations and brings strong organizational and communication skills, along with the ability to work in a structured, secure environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Social Worker in creating and maintaining individualized care plans for youth

Complete data entry, documentation, and case file organization

Coordinate schedules, meetings, and follow-up activities

Maintain accurate and organized records using Microsoft Office tools

Communicate professionally with internal teams and stakeholders

Ensure documentation is completed in a timely and compliant manner

Provide general administrative support as needed

Qualifications

Experience working with underserved populations, youth services, behavioral health, or similar environments

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Clear, professional written and verbal communication

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Preferred (not required):

CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or MAC (Medical Assistant Certified)

Prior experience in corrections, healthcare, or social services

Additional Requirements

Ability to pass background check and facility clearance requirements

Comfortable working in a secure juvenile correctional setting

Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, professional approach

Understanding of or exposure to trauma-informed care is a plus

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is looking for qualified Administrative Assistants to be responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical duties to help improve efficiencies at an organization. The Administrative Assistants will be the initial contact person for patients when they enter the medical office.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent form two year college or technical school or six months to one year related Administrative Assistant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and Administrative Assistant experience preferred.
