Job Title: Manufacturing Operator
Job Description
This temporary-to-permanent Manufacturing Operator position in Biddeford, ME involves performing assembly, machine operation, and general production tasks in a traditional manufacturing facility. You will work with a mix of seated, standing, and moving activities throughout the day and will be cross-trained in major job functions as you demonstrate the ability to perform them.
Responsibilities
Perform assembly tasks accurately and efficiently according to detailed work instructions.
Operate production machinery and equipment safely and consistently.
Carry out general production duties, including handling materials, packaging products, and supporting assembly line operations.
Use hand tools and power tools as required for mechanical assembly and production activities.
Work in a cleanroom or clean production environment when needed, following all cleanliness and safety protocols.
Monitor machines and production processes, reporting any issues or irregularities to the appropriate personnel.
Maintain a steady work pace while performing repetitive motion tasks for extended periods.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment such as eye protection, safety shoes, and gloves when needed.
Support multiple production functions by participating in cross-training and performing various roles as assigned.
Contribute to a clean, organized, and efficient work area by following housekeeping and 5S practices.
Demonstrate reliability and punctuality by consistently arriving on time and completing assigned shifts.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and quality standards.
Essential Skills
Ability to follow detailed work instructions accurately and consistently.
Comfort working in a general production and manufacturing environment.
Capability to stand on feet for 8-10 hours per day as required by the shift.
Comfort with repetitive motion work and performing the same or similar tasks throughout the shift.
Demonstrated reliability and punctuality in previous roles or experiences.
Strong work ethic with a good attitude and eagerness to learn new tasks and processes.
Ability to perform basic mechanical tasks using hand tools and power tools.
Willingness to work on assembly lines, packaging, machine operation, and general labor as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
6+ months of manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Previous experience in production, assembly, or machine operation is beneficial.
Familiarity with cleanroom environments or clean manufacturing areas is an advantage.
Experience with mechanical assembly and general labor in a manufacturing setting is helpful.
Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
Ability to adapt to cross-training and perform multiple job functions within the facility.

Work Environment
The role is based in a traditional manufacturing facility with good lighting throughout the workspace. You will experience a mix of seated, standing, and moving work over the course of each day. Personal protective equipment is provided and required, including eye protection and safety shoes, with gloves used as needed for specific tasks. The facility includes production, assembly, packaging, and machine operating areas, and may include cleanroom or clean production environments where cleanliness and safety protocols are strictly followed. Multiple shifts are available, including a first shift running Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a second shift running Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with the second shift being smaller in size and offering a shift differential. Dress expectations align with a typical manufacturing setting, emphasizing safety-focused attire suitable for working around machinery and production equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
