Job Description :
The Branch Rental Sales Account Manager is a revenue-driving leader responsible for growing rental market share through aggressive outside sales, strategic customer acquisition, and disciplined fleet and cost management. This role owns the full commercial performance of the branch - from prospecting and closing new business to retaining and expanding existing accounts - while building and developing a high-performing team. Success is measured in revenue growth, margin improvement, and rental fleet utilization.
Comp & Benefits
Compensation: $55,000 Base Pay + Uncapped Commission
Average 1st Year Commission: $20,000 to $30,000

Essential Functions
Sales & Business Development
Drive new business through proactive outside sales activity, including prospecting, appointment setting, and closing
Conduct regular customer retention visits and account reviews to identify expansion opportunities and ensure satisfaction
Overcome objections and articulate the value of Ryder's rental solutions to decision-makers
Develop fleet planning recommendations for the Director of Rental based on customer pipeline and market trends
Maximize rate opportunities within the market to protect and grow margin
Rental Operations
Ensure customers are placed in rent-ready vehicles and that all contracts are accurately completed
Monitor and analyze Fleet Management Reports to proactively address problem vehicles and maintain fleet standards
Oversee accounts receivable, cash controls, and contract accuracy including mileage and day extensions
Maintain fleet appearance and maintenance at company standards
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, hire, and develop branch talent with a focus on sales performance and customer service excellence
Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management
Identify individual strengths and development areas; build a team capable of sustaining growth
Additional Responsibilities
Maintain and grow the branch customer database with current, accurate information
Provide rental counter training and supervision
Perform other duties as assigned

Proven ability to prospect, build pipelines, and close business
Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization
Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a drive for results and strong follow-through
Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Able to build and lead effective teams
Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of fleet and market dynamics
Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced required)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience in a related field
5+ years of rental or sales experience required
3+ years in a rental product line including outside sales and counter supervision
2+ years of people management experience
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
Deep understanding of marketplace conditions and rental fleet optimization
Demonstrated knowledge of rental operations and asset management
