Job Title: Construction Superintendent
Job Description
This role leads all onsite construction activities from start to finish, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and schedule. The Construction Superintendent oversees daily field operations, coordinates subcontractors, and ensures work complies with plans, specifications, and building codes. The position plays a key role in delivering ground-up, renovation, mixed-use, commercial, and tenant improvement projects, including specialized environments such as theme parks. The superintendent serves as the primary onsite leader, partnering closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer to keep projects on time, within scope, and executed to a high standard.
Responsibilities
Champion jobsite safety by enforcing safe work practices and fostering a safety-first culture across all trades.
Oversee all onsite construction operations to ensure activities are executed efficiently and aligned with project goals.
Monitor daily progress on the jobsite and provide regular, clear updates to the Project Manager.
Inspect ongoing work to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
Lead weekly coordination, scheduling, and safety meetings to keep all teams informed and aligned.
Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports documenting jobsite activities, workforce, incidents, and overall project progress.
Develop and manage subcontractor schedules, including two-week look-ahead plans, to keep the project on track.
Track project milestones and proactively communicate schedule status, risks, and impacts to the project team.
Coordinate subcontractors in the proper sequence to maintain workflow, minimize conflicts, and avoid delays.
Identify long-lead items early and collaborate with the Project Engineer to prevent schedule impacts.
Evaluate subcontractor performance regularly and address any deficiencies or quality issues promptly.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by identifying jobsite challenges and developing practical, proactive solutions.
Recognize when to escalate issues and present viable solution options to leadership when needed.
Represent the company professionally in all interactions with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal team members.
Support subcontractors and suppliers as necessary to ensure successful and timely project execution.
Coordinate logistics for specialized environments such as theme parks, including access, badging, parking, and potential night work.
Utilize mobile technology and project management tools to effectively communicate and collaborate with the project team.
Uphold high-quality standards and ensure excellent finish work across all trades and scopes of work.
Assist with hands-on tasks when needed, including the safe use of construction tools and equipment.
Participate in weekly leadership meetings to review job-specific updates, challenges, and action items.
Work with the Project Engineer and subcontractors to process Requests for Information (RFIs) efficiently and provide clear, actionable solutions.
Manage punch list activities and ensure all owner and architect items are addressed and completed to satisfaction.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date onsite documentation, including permits, revisions, drawings, and safety records.
Maintain reliable transportation and the ability to travel to job sites and transport materials as needed.
Apply strong construction supervision and site construction oversight to ground-up, renovation, mixed-use, commercial construction, and tenant improvement projects.
Use construction management software, including Procore and computerized CPM scheduling programs, to support project scheduling and documentation.
Coordinate closely with the general contractor project team to ensure seamless communication and project management.
Essential Skills
Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar construction supervision role overseeing onsite operations.
Strong knowledge of building means and methods across commercial construction, ground-up projects, tenant improvements, renovations, and mixed-use developments.
Ability to read, interpret, and work from construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
Experience with subcontractor management, including scheduling, performance evaluation, and coordination of multiple trades.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience using Procore or similar construction management software for documentation, communication, and project tracking.
Knowledge of computerized CPM scheduling programs and practical experience with project scheduling.
Familiarity with OSHA 30 standards and commitment to enforcing safe work practices on site.
Demonstrated ability to manage RFIs, punch lists, and site construction documentation effectively.
Strong project management skills with the ability to track milestones, manage timelines, and support overall project delivery.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and develop effective solutions.
Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to lead meetings and collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and owners.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to various job sites as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working with general contractors on commercial construction projects.
Background in theme park, entertainment, or other specialized environments requiring detailed logistics and access coordination.
Experience with project scheduling tools and processes, including two-week look-ahead schedules.
Familiarity with mixed-use developments and tenant improvement projects.
Exposure to ground-up construction from site work through final finishes.
Understanding of renovation workflows and constraints in active or occupied facilities.
Comfort using mobile technology in the field for communication, reporting, and documentation.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining records, permits, and revisions.
Ability to assist with hands-on construction tasks when necessary, including safe use of tools and equipment.
Work Environment
This role is primarily field-based and centered on active construction sites, including commercial, ground-up, renovation, mixed-use, and tenant improvement projects. Many projects are local, reducing extensive travel and allowing you to build strong relationships with regional teams and trade partners. Some work may take place in specialized environments such as theme parks, which can require additional coordination for access, security badging, parking, and occasional night work to accommodate operating hours and guest activities. The superintendent works closely with project managers, project engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, using tools such as Microsoft Office, Procore, and computerized CPM scheduling programs to manage documentation, scheduling, and communication. The role involves regular onsite meetings, leadership discussions, and safety briefings, as well as frequent walking, climbing, and standing in varying weather and site conditions. The work environment emphasizes safety, professionalism, and high-quality craftsmanship, offering exposure to a variety of projects and a well-connected brand within the theme park and commercial construction industry.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.87 - $48.08/hr.
