Job Description
This Inside Customer Service Representative role offers the opportunity to support customers by assessing their needs, preparing quotes and proposals, processing contracts, and ensuring a high level of satisfaction. You will work closely with vendors and manufacturers to stay current on products and equipment, while contributing to both new and repeat sales in an office and warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
Generate new and repeat sales by providing accurate product and technical information in a timely manner.
Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend appropriate products and solutions.
Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability, or specifications when needed.
Present pricing, credit terms, and conditions in accordance with standard company procedures.
Accurately process customer transactions, including orders, quotes, and returns.
Provide accurate information regarding the availability of in-stock items.
Obtain accurate shipment and delivery date information from vendors and communicate it to customers.
Increase sales and average order size through cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales, and promotion of special offers.
Educate customers on product terminology, features, and benefits to support informed purchasing decisions and improve product-related sales.
Build and maintain meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust, loyalty, and repeat business.
Actively participate in shipping, receiving, and inventory processes as needed.
Contact customers after sales to ensure ongoing satisfaction and promptly resolve any complaints or issues.
Fulfill customer requests for catalogs, product information, or samples.
Capture accurate and complete customer and order information in company software systems.
Manage time effectively, meet personal performance goals, and collaborate productively with other members of the distribution team.
Present a professional image at all times when interacting with customers and vendors.
Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures, including compliance with the company's stop work policies.
Wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as directed.
Travel to various work sites or training locations as required.
Work overtime when necessary to support customer needs and business demands.
Maintain a strong attendance record and report to work at the designated start time.
Work cooperatively in a team environment and assist co-workers with other duties as required.

Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience (required).
Minimum of 2 years of successful selling experience, with emphasis on industrial or commercial sales preferred.

Ability to pass a pre-employment
Ability to provide valid documentation to establish employment eligibility in accordance with I-9 requirements.
Professional and courteous attitude in all interactions.
Willingness to travel to work sites or training as required.

Frequent use of hands to handle, feel, or operate objects such as a keyboard or mouse.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree preferred.
Experience with inbound calls, order entry, and inside sales support.
Customer service-oriented approach with a focus on building long-term relationships.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
Experience in retail or related customer-facing roles is beneficial.
Comfort working in both office and warehouse settings.
Willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment as required.
Ability to work effectively as part of a distribution team and support co-workers as needed.

Work Environment
This role operates in a combined office and warehouse environment. You will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets, and will work with company software and Microsoft Office applications. The position is full-time with standard hours, Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours per week, providing a predictable schedule. Minimal travel is expected, primarily for occasional work site visits or training. The warehouse environment may involve exposure to loud noises and varying temperatures, and you will be expected to wear personal protective equipment, including steel toe boots and provided uniforms, in designated operations and production areas. The physical demands include sitting for extended periods, frequent use of hands for computer work, occasional reaching, bending, and stooping, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Clear communication by phone and video conference is an important part of daily work, and safety procedures are strictly observed throughout the facility.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
