Job Description
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Finance serves as the strategic finance partner to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, providing financial leadership across the end-to-end supply chain. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with Senior Finance and Supply Chain leaders, this role drives financial planning, cost management, and performance analysis to support operational efficiency and strategic growth. The position plays a critical role in translating operational initiatives into financial impact, enabling value creation across manufacturing, procurement, supply planning, warehousing, logistics, commercialization, and R&D.
Responsibilities
Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and serve as a key member of the Finance Leadership Team.
Act as the primary financial business partner to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and the Supply Chain Leadership Team, including Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Procurement, Supply Planning, Warehousing, Customer Logistics, Commercialization, and R&D.
Provide financial leadership that connects operational actions with business outcomes and strategic goals, challenging assumptions and guiding decisions toward the best outcome for the business.
Lead the annual budget process for all Supply Chain functions, ensuring robust plans that align with strategic and operational objectives.
Manage periodic forecast processes for Supply Chain, delivering detailed analysis and presentation materials comparing budget, forecast, and prior-year performance.
Monitor actual performance versus plan, perform detailed variance analysis, and maintain a cost Risks & Opportunities log with clear, actionable insights for improvement.
Deliver comprehensive financial reporting and analysis to support Senior leadership, the broader supply chain organization, and ad hoc business requirements.
Surface issues proactively, question underlying assumptions, and drive continuous improvement in financial performance and decision-making.
Support and review the development and maintenance of annual cost standards by SKU, ensuring accurate costing and alignment with financial goals.
Lead cost analysis and financial metrics for co-manufacturing arrangements and production-related partnerships, ensuring cost-effective and value-accretive relationships.
Oversee plant and warehouse financial controls, ensuring strong cost control measures and alignment with budget and performance targets.
Collaborate with Supply Chain leaders to track and drive annual Value Creation Plan initiatives across procurement, formulation, manufacturing, and logistics.
Provide financial analysis and guidance for innovation and renovation projects, including pack-size architecture, labor and overhead efficiency implications, and strategic margin alignment.
Partner with the Commercialization team to forecast and track R&D plant trial expenditures, ensuring visibility and control over trial-related costs.
Lead capital investment analysis, including ROI and payback calculations, to support sound investment decisions and prioritization of projects.
Monitor capital spending against approved budgets and provide regular updates and insights to leadership.
Support Accounting with fixed assets, equipment, and parts inventory tracking, ensuring accurate records and appropriate capitalization.
Partner closely with the Chief Supply Chain Officer and CFO on supply chain special projects, providing financial guidance and analytical support as needed.
Support internal and external audits and due diligence efforts related to supply chain financials and processes, ensuring compliance and robust financial controls.
Communicate complex financial information in a clear, accessible way to non-finance stakeholders, helping them understand the financial implications of decisions in their areas.
Hold internal supply chain stakeholders accountable to financial targets and controls, providing direct and constructive challenge when needed.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting.
8+ years of progressive experience in Finance, including exposure to Supply Chain Finance, Co-Manufacturing Finance, Plant Controlling, and/or Cost Accounting.
Experience in a manufacturing or consumer products company.
Strong cost analysis, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis skills.
Proficiency in data mining, financial modeling, scenario building, and root-cause or "why" analysis.
Experience with ERP systems or similar enterprise financial platforms.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated leadership experience with strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and push back effectively across all levels of the organization.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated sense of urgency.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and drive transformational change.
Ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders and help them interpret financial results for their part of the business.
Ability to be direct and hold firm with internal customers within the supply chain organization.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
MBA or other relevant master's degree preferred.
Experience as a plant controller or in cost accounting within manufacturing is strongly preferred.
Background in co-manufacturing finance and partnership cost analysis is beneficial.
Classical finance training with a clear understanding of best-in-class financial processes and standards.
Comfort operating in an entrepreneurial, smaller-company environment while applying rigorous financial discipline.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted partnerships with Senior leaders in Finance and Supply Chain.
Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on value creation and operational efficiency.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid work environment, with four days per week in the office and one day working from home, with potential for increased flexibility as business needs allow. The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Finance works under the CFO as part of the Finance Leadership Team and partners closely with the Controller, Cost Accountant, and other finance colleagues. The position also has a strong dotted-line relationship to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and collaborates daily with leaders across manufacturing, procurement, planning, warehousing, logistics, commercialization, and R&D. The environment is fast-paced and high-growth, combining the discipline of classical finance with the agility and entrepreneurial spirit of a smaller company, and relies heavily on ERP systems, advanced Excel modeling, and presentation tools to support decision-making and drive performance.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
