Salary:

A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Provides overall management of all aspects of high/medium security facility operations. This includes development, establishment and implementation of facility goals, policies, and procedures.
Directs the programs and operations of the facility which may include contractual entities in accordance with the policy guidelines and program directives provided by the Department of Correction.
Manages the operations and performance of contractual entities (i.e., Food Services, Medical Services etc.) as well as overall vendor management.
Directs staff selection, training, and evaluation of staff performance.
Coordinates the program operations of the facility in accordance with other central office divisions.
Manages facility budget.
Ensures appropriate and effective management of offenders.
Partners with various groups on outreach programs regarding facility operations.
Recruits, selects, onboards, and trains employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
Sets expectations, measures progress, provides ongoing feedback, and evaluates the performance of employees. Ensures work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Broad knowledge of the correctional law, regulations, and court decisions.
Advanced knowledge of methods and operations used in treatment, rehabilitation and resocialization.
Advanced knowledge of public administration principles.
Ability to manage and direct the programs and activities of a facility.
Ability to effectively handle unprecedented challenges that may arise in a correctional facility.
Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
A degree is not required. However, a High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) and at least 10+ years of experience including 5 years of supervisory experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.
Completion of relevant education degree(s) may substitute for equivalent years of experience.
Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role provides supervision for incarcerated individuals and requires a high level of judgment and care.
