Summary The Clarksburg VA Medical Center, also known as the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center (LAJVAMC), is dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of Veterans in Clarksburg, West Virginia, and the surrounding area. Responsibilities This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026. Major Duties/Responsibilities Perform general cardiology clinical care, including in-patient consultation, out-patient consultation and out-patient clinic. Perform echocardiography, exercise and pharmacologic stress testing, Holter monitor an electrocardiogram interpretation, diagnosis and management of arrhythmias. Takes an active role in the evaluation of the patient, decision for treatment/care, and documentation in the patient electronic records. Serves on service level and/or hospital committees as needed and participate in the facility peer review program. Maintains professional competency, courtesy and flexibility or provide the necessary services of this specialty. Possess strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills with a commitment to academics. Maintains a record of successful practice management and excellent clinical skills. **All other duties assigned based on the needs of the Medical Facility. Work Schedule: 8am-4:30pm; however, subject to change, depending on the needs of the service/medical center. Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program. Approved residencies are: Those approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), OR Those approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA),OR One year of post medical school training (internship, first year of residency, or transitional year residency) approved by ACGME or AOA followed by two years of post-training independent practice (performing under a full and unrestricted license) in the United States, OR Non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of three years of independent practice in the United States (performing under a full and unrestricted license) performing duties related to the position they are applying for (United States fellowships would be creditable towards this requirement), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with appropriate professional training and believes has exposed the Physician to an appropriate range of patient care experiences. Preferred Experience: Preferred but not required, VA Experience, Board Certified with 5-10 years experience Perform, supervise, and interpret advanced cardiac imaging studies, as well as transthoracic and trans-esophageal echocardiography, highly desired.
