Job Title: Account Manager - Technical Sales (Electric Materials & Power Electronics)
Job Description
This Account Manager role focuses on driving technical sales and strategic account growth across emerging markets such as AI infrastructure, data centers, power electronics, semiconductors, advanced electrical materials, and electric vehicles. You will manage complex customer relationships, lead the full sales cycle, and act as a trusted technical and business advisor in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. The position offers a long-term opportunity to help build out a technical sales team in the Silicon Valley / San Francisco Bay Area and contribute directly to high-impact, multimillion-dollar deals.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic account plans to drive revenue growth across key enterprise and mid-market clients.
Manage the entire sales cycle from lead qualification through proposal development, contract negotiation, and closing.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers, serving as a technical and business advisor to key stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including engineering, marketing, product management, operations, and quality-to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer needs.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to identify new business opportunities and inform product and portfolio strategies.
Provide accurate sales forecasts and maintain high data integrity within the CRM system.
Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to promote solutions and strengthen market presence.
Use sound judgment and initiative to develop solutions for sales, customer service, and marketing challenges.
Assist with customer issue escalation and resolution, ensuring timely and effective follow-up.
Coordinate with R&D and engineering teams on technical requirements related to thermal management, magnetic materials, electrical materials, semiconductors, and power electronics.
Serve as the primary liaison between customers and vendors, suppliers, and factories throughout the product lifecycle for topics such as pricing, quality, design, and costs.
Support business development initiatives by contributing to pipeline development, business planning, product marketing strategy, portfolio management, and production forecasting.
Essential Skills
Proven ability to understand and use product management tools, including ROI calculations, lifecycle management, and forecasting.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across cultures.
Demonstrated people skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of business and product development principles, including engineering, operations, quality assurance, sales, and customer service.
Technical familiarity with electrical materials, magnetic materials, power electronics, thermal technologies, semiconductor-adjacent components, and data center systems supporting AI hardware.
Ability to understand customer technical requirements and translate them into product specifications and business strategies.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (required).
5-10+ years of experience in technical or enterprise sales, account management, or business development, with a focus on managing large, complex accounts and multimillion-dollar deals.
Experience closing complex, high-value deals and driving long-term customer partnerships.
Experience in automotive markets, ideally with Tier 1 suppliers.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Technical aptitude with the ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear business value.
Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
Background in automotive, electronics, EV, manufacturing, hardware, or engineering-focused industries.
Experience in business development, customer service, reporting, and sales operations.
Proven success in portfolio management and product marketing strategy.
Experience supporting AI infrastructure, data centers, or semiconductor-related applications.
Ability to represent the organization effectively at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work schedule based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with an anticipated expectation of approximately two days per week onsite at a local office once established, likely between San Francisco and San Jose. Travel may be up to 40% throughout the year, depending on customer needs, industry events, and project requirements. You will work in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment that emphasizes collaboration with engineering, R&D, product management, marketing, and operations teams. The position centers on advanced technologies in electric materials, magnetic materials, power electronics, thermal solutions, semiconductors, data center systems, and EV-related applications, providing exposure to cutting-edge hardware and infrastructure solutions while contributing to the growth of a technical sales organization in the region.

This is a Permanent position based out of South San Francisco, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $170000.00/yr.
Benefits -2 tiers, company paid, deductible plan, medical, dental, vision, vested pension after 5 years.
