Account Specialist (Dental Billing) Dent Med-Clinical Affairs - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26003534) Job Summary Reviews medical insurance claims and medical charges and ensures appropriately assigned diagnosis code and procedure code. Investigates insurance company denials, audits patient accounts, answers inquiries for assigned accounts, and updates related billing and financial documents and software. Essential Functions The Account Specialist is responsible for managing patient accounts, insurance billing, and financial communications within the dental practice. This role ensures accurate account management, timely claim processing, and exceptional patient service regarding financial matters. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain patient accounts, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of financial records. Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage prior to treatment. Submit, track, and follow up on insurance claims to ensure timely reimbursement. Process patient payments, billing statements, and account adjustments. Discuss treatment costs, payment options, and financing arrangements with patients. Monitor outstanding balances and coordinate collection efforts as needed. Resolve billing discrepancies and respond to patient account inquiries professionally and promptly. Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate treatment documentation and billing. Maintain compliance with dental billing regulations, insurance requirements, and office policies. Prepare financial reports and assist with account reconciliation when required. Physical Effort This is sedentary position which involves light physical activity and sitting at a desk in an office.
