THE POSITION

The Vocational Services Worker position with the Department of Human Services gives you the chance to help individuals build confidence and work skills at Danville State Hospital. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports individuals as they develop work skills and progress toward their treatment goals within various vocational program areas. As a Vocational Services Worker, you will perform the following duties:
Vocational Assessment:Evaluate individuals to identify their strengths, needs, and most suitable workshop placement
Skills Instruction:Lead vocational groups and individual sessions across assigned shop areas
Workshop Support:Demonstrate tasks, guide individuals, and model appropriate workplace behaviors
Progress Documentation:Record individual progress and maintain accurate schedules and treatment information
Supply Coordination:Monitor materials, place supply orders, and communicate with vendors as needed
Team Collaboration:Share recommendations in team meetings and support coordinated treatment planning

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Sunday - Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Four years of paraprofessional experience providing vocational services to individuals with physical, medical, or intellectual disabilities;or
A bachelor's degree in vocational rehabilitation, vocational education, vocational counseling, or a related human services field;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
