A Glimpse of the Job
As The Corps Market & Communication Manager, you will step into a mission-driven environment where every story told strengthens the legacy of the Corps of Cadets. In this role, the Manager will ensure brand consistency while crafting compelling narratives that spotlight cadet excellence and elevate Corps initiatives across multiple platforms. You will work with internal teams and media partners to ensure every message reflects the discipline, pride, and precision expected of Texas A&M. Leading a dedicated marketing staff and student team, you will guide projects from concept to completion while supporting Corps recruiting and engagement goals. With every project, you will help define how the Corps is represented to Aggies, future cadets, and the world beyond campus.

Other Requirements and Factors:
Must be available to work nights and weekends, and early mornings.

Opportunities to Contribute
Content Curation, Creation, and Strategic Communication - Develop and edit written content for use across all platforms, to include stories, press releases and newsletters, media advisories and articles highlighting cadet and Corps related initiatives and accomplishments. Develops content and advises on social media strategy to engage new audiences. Creates, curates, edits and produces storytelling content for distribution across multiple channels, both internally and externally. Maintains the Corps' social media content calendar and tailors digital and written content by channel. Develops and refines content in support of digital communications including social media, internal and external communications, and Corps website. Enhances awareness of Texas A&M Corps of Cadets through strategic and intentional storytelling for internal and external audiences. Communicates with stakeholders to facilitate effective communication strategies for advertising and branding in support of the Corps of Cadets and the Office of the Commandant. In conjunction with Corps Recruiting and AD of Corps Marketing & Communications, coordinates communication efforts that align with existing messaging, ensuring consistent voice and tone. Works closely with A&M news team on distribution of advisories and releases. Manages distribution of advisories and releases to local and regional media outlets.
Project Coordination - Collaborates with visual and social media staff and student workers on content development, including script development and interview question generation. Completes competitive analysis and market research to create strategic digital media communication plans and implementation strategies to reach intended audiences leveraging social media and the Corps' website. Arranges for commercial printing services as necessary to support public information programs and projects, specifying requirements and ensuring quality printer performance within cost and schedule. Coordinates staff actions with other university offices and departments and responds to their requests for departmental information. Oversees collections of key performance indicators in support of recruitment marketing.
Management - Serves as head of unit in the absence of the Corps AD of Marketing and Communications. Maintain, update, and enforce the Corps brand style guidelines and ensure alignment with Corps AD of Marketing & Communications' and Texas A&M brand guidelines. Ensure written content conforms to journalistic and university standards and style and aligns with the voice and tone as established in the Corps' brand guidelines. Assists the Corps AD of Marketing & Communications with the scheduling of kay Corps members and units, to include scheduling, travel and coordination for events. Manages and supervises student positions that handle copyrights and graphic designs.
Marketing - Oversees creation of graphics to be used in all platforms. Oversees creation of advertisements for print and digital spaces, including recruitment advertisements. Manages graphics, marketing materials or information updates in support of Corps Recruiting. Manages and maintains the Corps' website and events calendar (corps.tamu.edu). Collaborates with Office of the Commandant units to ensure website and digital content is current and accurate.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of experience in communications, marketing, media relations, multimedia/graphics design or WordPress development/design.
A Well-Qualified Candidate Will Also Possess:
Five years of professional experience in a combination of marketing/communications, media relations, multimedia/graphics design, digital marketing and WordPress development/administration.
Two years of experience in higher education.
Strong knowledge of and ability to write professional communications, in the appropriate format and style, for multiple mediums including web, e-newsletter, social media and print.
Knowledge of media advisory and press release composition.
Ability to manage all aspects of assigned projects, including concepts, timelines, budgets, communications, deadlines, and quality control.
Knowledge of graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
Knowledge of WordPress and basic HTML skills.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to present information clearly and concisely.
Experience working with media.
Ability to think strategically and provide strategic direction on marketing and communications efforts.
Functioning knowledge level of how WordPress multi-sites operate.
An understanding of brand management and working within a brand.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to work indoors/outdoors, with occasional exposure to extreme weather.
