Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, this position is responsible for delivering home- and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers who have, or are at risk for, developmental delays, as well as their families, in both home and community settings. The PTA partners closely with their supervising Physical Therapist as well as parents and caregivers to ensure that services are individualized, meaningful for the family, and grounded in evidence-based practices. Through this collaborative approach, the family\'s priorities, needs, culture, and values are at the forefront of service delivery. Responsibilities Include: - Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the child\'s developmental status. - Provide culturally responsive services appropriate for children ages birth to three years and their families. - Participate in the development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) with responsibility for identifying objectives, outcomes, and strategies related to the child\'s development. -Implement intervention plans devloped by the supervising Physical Therapist to support the child\'s gross motor, mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional movement skills. - Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as required by PDC and DPH. - Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of sensory processing, self-care, adaptive behavior, fine motor development, social-emotional development, cognitive development, feeding, and play skills. - Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress within the scope of the PTA practice. - Collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding treatment planning, progress monitoring, and service delivery. - Provide supportive professional assistance and education to families regarding positioning, mobility, motor development, and participation in everyday activities. - Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child development and assist families in acting as advocates for their child. - Effectively manage required EICS data entry in home and community settings. - Keep all records timely and updated in EICS as required by PDC and DPH requirements. Position Requirements: - Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant license. - Ability to work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with Massachusetts laws and regulations governing PTA practice. - Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners. - Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally appropriate services. - Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundary standards. - Ability to manage DPH-designed client database after appropriate training has been completed. - Exhibit compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, reimbursement requirements, and state statutes and rules regarding PTA education, training, supervision, and scope of practice. - Adhere to all Department of Public Health Early Intervention Operational Standards Visit company website for full job description.
