Job Title: Production Technician - Entry Level
Job Description
This entry-level Production Technician role offers a long-term opportunity within a small manufacturing company in northern Blair County. You will work on the production floor measuring and cutting plastic materials, opening and managing work orders on a computer, and performing basic production and inspection tasks. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, can stand for extended periods, and is comfortable using basic tools and computer systems.
Responsibilities
Measure and cut plastic materials accurately using a tape measure and hand tools.
Open, review, and manage work orders using a computer-based system.
Perform basic computer functions to track work, record production data, and complete assigned tasks.
Stand for up to 8 hours per day while performing production activities.
Inspect materials and finished pieces to ensure they meet required measurements and quality standards.
Use basic math skills to calculate measurements, conversions, and quantities as needed.
Assist with basic assembly and repair tasks related to production operations.
Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while working on the production floor.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production.
Collaborate with team members to complete production orders on time and to specification.
Essential Skills
Ability to read a tape measure accurately, including measurements in eighths (1/8) and sixteenths (1/16) of an inch.
Ability to pass a test on both the metric system and the inch system for measurements.
Basic math skills to perform measurements, conversions, and simple calculations.
Basic computer skills to open work orders and perform essential functions in a computer system.
Capability to stand for 8 hours per day while performing production tasks.
Experience or aptitude in production, inspection, repair, and assembly work.
Comfort using hand tools safely and effectively.
Attention to detail to ensure accurate measuring, cutting, and quality checks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment is helpful but not required for motivated entry-level candidates.
Familiarity with measuring plastic materials and working with tape measures in both metric and imperial units.
Willingness to learn company-specific processes and production standards.
Strong work ethic and reliability, with an interest in long-term employment and growth.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tyrone, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
