Job Title: Superintendent of Construction
Job Description
The Commercial Superintendent is responsible for leading all on-site construction activities for commercial projects from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role oversees subcontractors and field personnel, coordinates daily job site operations, enforces safety compliance, and monitors quality to ensure adherence to plans and specifications. The Superintendent works closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues, manage site logistics, and maintain accurate project progress reporting, while driving productivity and maintaining a high standard of workmanship throughout the build.
Responsibilities
Lead on-site construction activities for commercial projects.
Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Oversee subcontractors and field personnel.
Coordinate daily job site operations and enforce safety compliance.
Monitor quality to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues.
Manage site logistics and maintain accurate project progress reporting.
Drive productivity and uphold high standards of workmanship throughout the build.
Essential Skills
Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating job site operations.
Proven ability to maintain project schedules and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and commitment to job site safety.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication with project teams, clients, and vendors.
Problem-solving skills with the ability to address field issues quickly.
Experience with quality control and inspections.
Understanding of building codes, permitting, and compliance requirements.
High level of organization and attention to detail.
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, MS Project).
Cost tracking and budget management experience.
Familiarity with MEP systems coordination (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
OSHA 30 Certification.
CPR/First Aid Certification.
LEED certification or green building experience.
Experience in specialized sectors (healthcare, multifamily, industrial, etc.).
Bilingual or multilingual communication skills.
Experience mentoring assistant superintendents or junior field staff.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $48.08/hr.
